The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In practice that means you should be able to:
- Use the whole site with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
- Use a screen reader, with headings in a logical order and text alternatives for images
- Zoom text to double its size and use the site at narrow widths without content being cut off
- Read text with enough colour contrast against its background
- Browse with animations reduced if your device asks for reduced motion
Known gaps
Some parts of the site come from third parties and we cannot fully control how accessible they are:
- The enquiry form comes from an outside form provider and sits inside our page. Its labels, error messages and keyboard behaviour depend on that provider. If you have any difficulty with it, email or WhatsApp us instead.
- The map on the contact page uses OpenStreetMap tiles and is a visual aid. The same information is given in text alongside it, and every town we cover is listed as text on our areas page.
Other ways to reach us
If any part of the site does not work for you, you can contact us directly. Messages to info@ridgewayskylightsswindon.co.uk or to 07880 284133 on WhatsApp will both reach us. We have no public premises; surveys and fittings take place at your home, and we can arrange them in whatever way suits you.
Reporting a problem
Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and what went wrong, and the device or assistive technology you were using if you know it. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix problems within our control as quickly as we can. If we cannot fix something straight away, we will give you the information you need in another format.
How we check the site
We test the site with automated checks and by hand, including keyboard navigation and contrast measurement, when pages are built or changed. We will review this statement whenever the site changes significantly.
